The Fairgound Reimagined Competition

The greatest stories ever told — retold by you.

$10K+ WORTH OF PRIZES AVAILABLE

Fairground is calling on the world's most creative AI filmmakers to take the classics and make them their own. Dig into the public domain, pick a story that speaks to you, and reimagine it through the lens of AI. Any genre. Any style. Any interpretation. The theme is Reimagined — and what that means is entirely up to you.

Think Sherlock Holmes as a sci-fi thriller. Huckleberry Finn as an animated road movie. Hansel and Gretel as a psychological horror. Snow White retold as a workplace comedy. Romeo and Juliet set in a dystopian future. Dracula reimagined as a mockumentary. Don Quixote as a buddy comedy. The source material is timeless — now it's your turn to make it unforgettable.

Here's some more suggestions to get you started

What is Public Domain?

The public domain is defined as books, characters or films no longer protected by copyright law. This usually covers works published before 1931, government documents, or waived rights. Note: while an old story might be free, a modern version or remake of it usually carries its own separate copyright, so the work needs to be an original version of the source material, not a later copyrighted one.
